Celtic Plantlore

Gathering

4 Day Gathering In the Scottish Borders

A weekend of practical & magical application Gathering together in the land

15th May – 18th May, 2025

Gathering in community
with the plants & the land

Weaving wholeness,
Weaving remembrance.

Our Celtic Plantlore Gathering is an opportunity to come together in circle alongside our dear plant kin who provide us with an abundance of food, medicine, magic & beauty.

In this gathering, we will dive into Celtic Plantlore, integrating and applying some of the practices shared by teachers within the online course.

During the 4 days, we will adventure out onto the land, pilgrimage to sacred sites, hear some of the local history and lore, learn about native plants, druidry & earth wisdom.

Our weekend is woven with simple rituals and practices for sensing and connecting with the land and plants. We will engage in the hands-on experiences of foraging; herbal medicine, mead and tea ~ making and tasting.

With our senses, we will remember the ways that our ancestors knew. We will connect with plant, stone & tree, rooting into the Earth. We will attune with ways of life that flow in harmony with the cycles of the moon, sun and stars. Coming together to gather around the fire, we will share stories, song, laughter and tears.

Gathering In the Land

May we be nourished & inspired through deepening our connection with this animate Earth.

Practice

We will explore & apply some of the practices shared during the Celtic Plantlore course. Through hands-on experiences out in the luscious land, we will cover plant identification, asking permission & making offerings, foraging, gathering, preparing & ingesting wild foods & medicinal plants.

Connection

We will work with practices for deepening our connection with the living Earth, opening our intuition through the five senses. Coming into deeper relationship with the plants, the land and each other.

Ritual

We will be walking the land and making pilgrimage to sacred sites, learning some history and lore of the local area, including Druid and Celtic wisdom. We will create a ritual to celebrate Beltane, offering our gratitude and praise to the land.

Nourishment

Delicious meals, including local, organic and foraged foods, lovingly prepared by our chef and hearth tender. Story, song, laughter, evening gatherings around the fire and in the hot tub...all of these will offer us deep nourishment & joy!

Program & Facilitators

Many may have forgotten the old ways, though gratefully there are those still keeping the skills and songs alive, and others of us who are relearning them.

Lana Lanaia

Ritual, Song & Growing Connection with the Living Land

Lana is a musician and facilitator of retreats, ritual & healing spaces, within which we may remember the beauty & sacredness of life.

She was born in England, lives in the Scottish Highlands, and has spent much of  her life journeying within the landscapes and sacred sites of these Isles.

For many years she has  learned from indigenous & shamanic traditions, worked with sound & healing, grown and tended biodyanmic gardens, lived in the wild, and learned a lot from listening with the land.

She is now sowing these seeds, along with others who are dreaming and re-weaving the earth honouring ways of our lands, into the soil again.

Sarah Long

Druidry, Plant Wisdom & Ritual

Sarah is a Druid, holder of ritual and ceremony, artist and poet. She has been exploring Druidry and celebrating the wheel of the year for over 30 years, and carries a deep devotion and reverence for Mother Earth.

She weaves her magic in the mundane through organic gardening and her love of plants and the divine feminine. She has spent many years pilgrimaging to sacred sites, holding space around the fire and loves to share stories, songs and chants.

She has lived on the isle of Iona and is a Keeper of the Sacred flame of Brigid.

She is passionate about connecting to ancient myth through landscape and sacred sites. Last year she ran a pilgrimage to follow in the footsteps of the sixth century Merlin of the Scottish Borders. Those grave is marked by a hawthorn tree and whose legend lives on in the landscape.

Sarah creates warm and welcoming spaces, allowing people to feel at ease and encouraging their own inspiration to flow. She has a generous spirit and a great gift of offering blessings.

Kate Cohen

Journeying with the Plants, Nature Connection & Song

Kate is of Scottish, Irish and Polish ancestry. Over the past 10 years she has cultivated experience sharing embodied movement practices, holding women’s circles, sound healing through sound journeys and voice explorations, community gatherings and ceremony following the wheel of the year, native plant connection practices and herbal wisdom, land connection and pilgrimage.

Kate is a lover of mythos and mystery, wonder and beauty, and exploring how we can come into deeper connection with ourselves, our ancestors, each other and the wider living world, to create healing and harmony.

She is in living apprenticeship with the plants, bees, stones, trees and waters.
