Old Yodels of the Alps

2-Hour Online Workshop

A live singing workshop to explore the ancestral tradition of yodeling in celebration of Autumn

Tuesday, October 14th

10:30am PT / 6:30pm BST

In this 2-hour gathering, we’ll explore yodeling as a way to reconnect with our ancestral roots and the natural rhythms of the earth.

Together, we’ll learn two traditional autumn yodels – songs of harvest and transition as well as honoring the ancestors and our grief in this turning of the year toward the darker, inward season.

Connect with the Old Songs

Whatever your lineage, we invite you to discover the ancestral sounds of Europe.

Join Amelie Mehru & Flo Böck for a 2-hour live workshop, where they’ll introduce yodeling as a living, breathing vocal tradition rooted in the landscapes and cultures of Central Europe.

Through guided exercises, listening, and shared singing, we’ll attune to the Alpine soundscape and the spirit of community that once echoed through mountain valleys. All levels of experience are welcome – just bring your voice, your curiosity, and your willingness to sound.

You're Invited

Whether you come out of curiosity, longing, or the desire to connect with the songs of your ancestors — you are welcome.

GERMANY

Amelie Mehru & Flo Böck

Amelie Mehru & Flo Böck are a voice duo and couple from southern Germany, living by Lake Ammer (one hour from Munich). For six years, they traveled around the world following the call of the voice – a journey that led them to rediscover their roots in the ancient art of yodeling.

Through their work, they explore how the voice can help regenerate culture and rekindle our sense of belonging to the earth and to each other. Blending polyphonic singing, vocal improvisation, soulful songwriting, deep nature connection, and yodeling, they create spaces where the voice becomes a doorway into deeper community and aliveness.

Their mission: to make yodeling alive and sexy again.

Meet Your Hostess

Hanna Leigh

FOUNDERESS, WEAVING REMEMBRANCE

Greetings, I'm Hanna Leigh

Hi! My name is Hanna Leigh, (IG: @hannaleighsong) and I am a Singer-Songwriter, Voice Doula, Weaver, and Devotee of this precious, living Earth. I was raised in California (Chumash territory) though in recent years have spent extensive time residing on ancestral lands in the Celtic isles. My people migrated to the U.S. several generations ago from England, Scotland, Norway, Germany and the Netherlands.

This organization, Weaving Remembrance, was birthed through my own passion to to reclaim ancestral wisdom and connect with the indigenous spirit of the “Great Sacred Motherland of Europe” – a term I first heard from activist Lyla June.

It is an honor to sit with wisdom keepers, song carriers and storytellers from around Europe, and we invite you to come along for the journey!
