Threads of Sorrow & Love

A Journey Into Keening

Online Workshop

Journey with wise elders who will introduce you to the sacred art of keening and how this ancient tradition lives today

90 Minutes

The word keening has become more widely known in recent years, but what does keening actually mean? At this potent time on earth, we are seeing an upsurge of awareness around ancestral trauma and our collective need for the healing power of grief. How can we pick up the threads of this ancient practice in a good way?

Join us in this journey into the sacred waters of grief, where we will be guided by wise elders in the ancient art of keening, exploring its deep roots and enduring presence in our lives today.

Together, we will remember how this sacred tradition continues to resonate, offering a powerful way to express the emotions that weave us back into honoring the cycles of Life.

You’re invited to a special introductory workshop to the Keening tradition with guest teachers:
Mary McLaughlin
&
Phyllida Anam-Aire

We are weaving our lives,
We are weaving a blanket of light,
We are weaving a basket to hold all that's true 🎶

Our Hosts

Hanna Leigh

FOUNDERESS

Greetings, I'm Hanna Leigh

Hi! My name is Hanna Leigh, (IG: @hannaleighsong) and I am a Singer-Songwriter, Voice Doula, Weaver, and Devotee of this precious, living Earth. I was raised in California (Chumash territory) though in recent years have spent extensive time residing on ancestral lands in the Celtic isles. My people migrated to the U.S. several generations ago from England, Scotland, Norway, Germany and the Netherlands.

This organization, Weaving Remembrance, was birthed through my own passion to to reclaim ancestral wisdom and connect with the indigenous spirit of the “Great Sacred Motherland of Europe” – a term I first heard from activist Lyla June.

It is an honor to sit with wisdom keepers, song carriers and storytellers from around Europe, and we invite you to come along for the journey!

CO-WEAVER

Lana Lanaia

Welcome, I’m Lana Lanaia. I was born in England, live in the Scottish Highlands, and have spent much of my life exploring the landscapes and sacred places of these Islands.

I am a musician, sound healer, and facilitator of classes and retreats for over 20 years. My inspiration flows from my deep love for the Earth; of wild landscapes, forests, mountains, rivers, oceans, sacred sites, and the stars. Over the years, I have been learning  from indigenous & healing traditions, ways that we may rekindle our relationship with self, Nature and our origins.

I am passionate about re-awakening the ancient~living~wisdom within our hearts and lands;  weaving remembrance that we are all children of the Earth.
